If you know a mom to be who is having a little boy, a King of the Jungle baby shower couldn’t be cuter. You can go all out with the theme of the little tiger she’s going to have. You can keep it light and encourage her that boys are “little monkeys” and other cute names for creatures that are adorable and run wild all around. She’ll appreciate the humor.

You can buy baby shower plates, cups, napkins, and table décor all in King of the Jungle themes. Shop online for the best selections. You can go with a lion theme, as the lion is known as the King of the Jungle, but really any jungle animal will work.

Start by sending out King of the Jungle baby shower invites. You can make them or buy them. A picture of a cute cartoonish lion is always good. You can write something like, “Mary’s about to give birth to a little King of the Jungle” so we’re celebrating in safari style. Or some other cute wording to this effect will work well, too. The idea is to get the theme across. You may want to ask guests to come in safari gear like safari vests, shorts, binoculars, and hiking boots. Of course, it depends on your guest list. You don’t want Gramma having to feel like she has to come in shorts. But cute safari hats could be something you pass out when guests arrive. Also consider the time of year. If you live in California where it’s always sunny, it works well.

Have your shower outside if the climate and time of year allows. Set up your patio like a little mini jungle. Bring an outdoor heater to the patio for a jungle campfire. Set up poles with faux jungle greenery overhead. Bring in a tent and set it up like a safari campsite. Stuffed animals like oversized tigers, elephants, giraffes, and lions all add to the fun of the theme.

Consider your mother to be when planning a small gift guests can all bring. It used to be called a “wishing well” where shower guests would bring a small gift for baby. That name has gone away to some degree, but you can word your invitation to the effect that you’d like everyone to bring a jungle themed present for baby. Say something like, “Please bring a small jungle-themed toy or outfit for the new baby. We’ll be making a big baby gift basket at the shower.” That way, guests can join in the fun of the theme without going bankrupt buying a huge silly gift. Stuffed toys, rattles, onesies, night lights and such are fun to gather. You can create a make-shift cage and put all the items you gather as guests come in to present to the mom to be. Guests can even wrap a box of diapers in jungle paper and that will look festive.

As for foods, have meats on skewers and other campfire themes like s’mores. Or you can just have a baker decorate cupcakes with a lion’s head done in frosting. Have jungle punch (fruit juice with tropical fruits like pineapple floating in it) or other fun beverages. You can pass around plastic coconut cups for guests to sip out of.

What is your favorite baby shower theme?

Such a cute baby shower theme! I wish I would have been more prepared for the last baby shower I threw. We didn't really have a theme, it would have been a lot cuter with one! That's for sure. Nice hub here!
