Chocolate
If your budget allows, select a small box of heart shaped Valentine chocolate for each pair of guests. These boxes come with four pieces of candy in them and are decorated so adorably in a heart shape. You don’t need to add a thing to them. Just place on the table and you’re done. But instead of purchasing them at a regular store, try the dollar store (where you’re sure to pay $1 for each box). Or try searching online. You could even purchase a big box of chocolates to set at every table.
Don’t purchase the few weeks before Valentine’s Day, as you may find prices are higher. Since you’ll know ahead of time that you are having a Valentine’s theme, purchase them a few months in advance. If the heart-shaped box won’t work for you, go with one high-end heart-shaped chocolate for each guest. If you’re giving a piece of really fine chocolate, you can get away with giving just one per person. Try Godiva or Lindt online for some ideas. They can either direct you to one of their stores or you can order them online.
Soaps
Heart shaped soaps are lovely to give. If you have a nice budget set aside for favors, try a company called Wedding Favors Unlimited. They offer a beautiful heart shaped soap that fits in the palm of your hand nicely. It’s a good size and comes in a lovely shade of pink.
If you can’t swing the high-end version, don’t worry. You can still make them yourself. Either way, they are still going to look and smell wonderful.
Consider wrapping them with red velvet bows or placing them in a decorative container like a votive holder with hearts on it.
Candles
And speaking of votive holders, why not give a votive in the shape of a heart? There are some lovely heart shaped candles that come in glass containers in the shape of hearts. These are adorable.
But you can also do tapers. Purchase red taper candles and wrap pairs in white bows. They’ll look so inviting on the tables. Or you can alternate.
Give some couples red tapers and some white so the tables are a delightful mix of whites and reds.
Heart Shaped Frames
A visit to a discount store will score you all the heart shaped frames you could wish for. Usually, they are just a dollar or so and come in silver, gold or other colors. Around Valentine’s Day, you’ll find even more of a selection. Purchase them the year before your wedding, if you can, as they all go on sale right after Valentine’s Day. For a nice touch, include a photo of you and your future husband or a nice saying inside each frame. Alternate glass and silver or red and white frames for a really nice effect.
